UNSPOKEN WORDS

             UNSPOKEN WORDS

You wake up and it's the same movie playing again and again

Stuck in a lame life circle of a scared man

You wish to break free but the escaping path you can't see

The sun is so out of reach

And you are running out of words to preach

Convince yourself that everything is going to be all right

But deep down you know our world is no longer bright

As a soldier is a hero and gets a standing ovation

When so many souls in this life he has already taken

The man in charge sits with both feet up at his desk

Claiming he is the solution, hiding behind his mask

Young girls being played

Young boys from drugs can't be saved

Your old man wishes for the old days to be back

When life wasn't painted white and black

When the colors were spread around

And the laughter was the only sound

When we helped one another, hand in hand

Stood for each other, protected our holly land

As you are reading this, know each and everyone of you can

Can make a difference if you set your mind to it

Believe in yourself, trust that you can do it

Work harder, focus on what's real

Don't let the negativity control the way you think, the way you feel

  1. I'm speechless ! this poem is a lightening bolt of truth. a sad truth we tend to close our eyes on. it made me think what have I done so far to get over my fear and tilt the balance into the right side
